He released 3 or 4 albums in the early '00s. The one the dog song is from, "Stronger" (2005 or '06), was probably the best, with a handful of really good songs. He released one album after that and now seems to have disappeared.

A few years after that Sonny Burgess was announced as one of the acts playing at the Hemsby rock n' roll festival (about 20 miles from where I live). I got quite excited for a short while until I realised it was rocker Burgess rather than country boy Burgess! Did go to the r & r festival at one point to see Wayne Hancock - excellent little show, rocked his way through about 20 songs in an hour!

Audiences at classic rock & Roll shows are a funny bunch. I recall years ago at a Chuck Berry gig loads turned up in their 50's gear, & one very drunk guy came up & asked "Are you a 50's man or a 60's man?". I didn't really know what to say!

I met one bloke at a gig who had a great big quiff sticking up and a huge beard straggling down ... looked like one of those old picture where you could see a face whichever way up you looked at it!
