BBC Radio Lancashire shared some very sad news. Joe Fish who presented BBC Radio Lancashire's country music show for years has died.

For many years Joe organized Country Music Tours and holidays from the UK to the USA in association with top UK country magazine COUNTRY MUSIC PEOPLE Magazine. He was a former CMA International Broadcaster of the Year and won several UK Radio awards
Joe had been ill for some time and he died surrounded by his family.

There will be a full tribute to Joe Fish in this Sunday's Country Show between 2 and 3pm on BBC Radio Lancashire

I'm very sad about this. Joe was a top bloke. I travelled to Nashville with Joe Fish Country Tours on a number of occasions and always had a great time. I've been over with a couple of other companies and though I generally have a good time, the Joe Fish tours were always the best. Joe seemed to know everyone in Nashville - and everyone liked him! Great guy.

Sad. Joe was a great gent and like Kev - I travelled with him 3 or 4 times to Nashville for the CMA Festival. Joe always added some great additions to every trip and seemed to know everyone.

Did you or Kev attend any of his special interview breakfasts with the country stars which were later broadcast on BBC Radio Lancashire?

I read that Jean and Rachael Fish escorted and organised the 2015 and future tours on behalf of Joe Fish Country Tours.
I wonder what they were like with Joe absent?

I went to Nashville with Joe Fish tours in 2014, just after Joe became ill. It was hosted by Rachael and Joe's son (can't remember his name), who were assisted by the wonderful Tony Davey. They did a good job on the whole but it didn't quite have the same feel with Joe and his partner Carol, and there was none of the in-hotel performances that usually occurred.

Jean Fish is obviously experienced with the whole US music tour business and I'm sure future tours will be fine but without Joe, Carol, and Tony, I just can't imagine it having such a 'family' feel to it. And, of course, the whole CMA thing is aiming at a much younger audience now so I can't see me going again .....
