Hi everyone. I 55 long years old and play a Warwick Bass and Gibsob SG Special guitar. I have always loved Country music - exposed to it by the Rolling Stones (Hmm) but don't have a huge knowledge of it. Guess my favourites are Gram Parsons, Merle Haggard, Tanya Donnely (ballad not countrry?) & Lucinda Williams. I have Kitty Wells & Willie Nelson stuff. Of modern ones I like Sunny Sweeney & Elizabeth Cook. I like rock music too and used to play in punk bands (really bad ones - just could not find competent musos at that period!) when I was younger. So many rock ballads verge on country. There's a lot of country I find rather bland. I joined a non-country sort of jazzy band 6 months ago but we are falling apart due to illness of an older key member. So I'm up to jam or play. I also do yoga which keeps my fingers in nice loose shape and helps my playing. I also like to get told some good new stuff to listen to.
I'd like to hold my head up & proud of who I am (from Merle).
