Re: New Stuff 2019

Reba's new album is now on NPR First Listen.
It's very good - there's drinkin' songs, cheatin' songs, plenty of fiddle and steel guitar, and her voice just seems to get better over the years. Top quality country music.

Re: C2C 2019

Some of the lineup for the Long Road Festival at Stanford Hall, Leicestershire on 6 - 8 September has been announced. Includes Asleep at the Wheel, Josh Turner, Sam Outlaw and the Cactus Blossoms. Not bad so far.........

Sorry to hear that - I used to like the Tractors in the 90s.

Re: ALBUMS OF 2018

I liked four new albums last year:
Pistol Annies - Interstate Gospel
JP Harris - Sometimes dogs bark at nothing
Jay Bragg - Honky Tonk Dream
Cliff Westfall - Baby you win ( a new name to me, but my favourite album of 2018)

Re: Dean Ford

Dean Ford released "This Scottish Heart", a 30 track CD in November 2018 - not revamps of Marmalade hits either, although he does do an acoustic version of "Reflections". Great song!

I've got "Where I'm Comin' From". Good stuff - an enjoyable throwback to the golden era of country music, the 90s, and yes - definitely influenced by George Strait.

Re: C2C 2019

The Sunday looks OK, though I've never heard of Drake White, but I know it's gonna be too expensive and I still dislike the 02! Drake White's got a good voice but I'm not keen on his material. To be honest, the only one in the whole weekend's line up I would want to see is Ashley McBryde, but in a ...

I'm really enjoying the JP Harris album - will be good to hear him play some of the tracks live next month.

Wow - that is sad. I've seen Gary and his band at a few festivals and they've always been really good entertainment.

Three good songs from the Pistol Annies upcoming album "Interstate Gospel" are on Spotify and Youtube. Really looking forward to hearing the rest of them! Here's one: 7KB3PPdvz_M It's alright. I've never been hugely impressed by this crowd, it's always felt a bit contrived to me. I like this crowd!
